Colts Take On Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, football enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I hope on this fine morning kickoff to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (7-2) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Key Moments

As sparkly jackets go that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be taking the field soon. Will the QB bounce back after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

Not to be outdone the singer belting out the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

And we're off! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right side then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver cannot reel in a fastball from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard line. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Other Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the top contest of the day.
