Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
