The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
